Sweating Enough? Nerve Issues?

Sweating Enough?

On this date, August 14, 2011, I was at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota trying to determine if I had nerve issues that might affect my sweating ability. I had failed a couple of tilt tests and my neurologist thought I should check out this machine called a Thermo regulatory sweat test. The test required putting on a paper bikini, lying on a gurney, being powdered down with a substance that felt like what you’d put on a turkey before you put it in the oven. Powdery seasoning salt. The oven was turned on high and I was rolled in. Nurses monitored me through little portholes to see if I needed a little more powder dusted on, and if I was OK in all that heat. Long story short is that if I turned purple that meant that I sweated enough. Fortunately, I turned as purple as Barney the dinosaur. Afterwards I took the most exciting shower ever trying to get all that purple off.

Purple is a good sign.
